As a real estate industry professional for over 20 years, Anita has enjoyed a career as a paralegal, was an escrow officer for two local title companies and worked as Director of Operations at one of Pacific Grove’s premier real estate brokerages. Anita obtained her CA real estate license in 2013 and joined Sotheby’s International Realty as a real estate sales professional focusing on luxury real estate sales on the Monterey Peninsula including the master planned resort communities of Tehama and Monterra Ranch. As a member of the Canning team, Anita continues to work in those communities as well as The Santa Lucia Preserve and the rest of the Monterey Peninsula. Anita is the proud mom to her daughter Chloe who attended Robert Louis Stevenson Schools in Carmel and Pebble Beach. Anita can often be found walking her little rescue dog Olive in area dog parks, cold plunging in the 59 degree water at Lover’s Point, or taking care of her 100+ year-old cottage in Old Town Monterey.

Formerly with Bratty and Bluhm Real Estate in Pacific Grove, and now part of Canning Properties Group, Arleen provides her clients with broad market exposure, a global network of buyers and extraordinary dedication to ensuring all of her clients experience the smoothest real estate transaction possible.

Arleen grew up in Monterey, and has lived in Pacific Grove, Big Sur, Prunedale and everywhere in between. With these moves came several real estate transactions where she experienced first-hand all aspects of the business of renting, buying and selling real estate. For over twenty years, Arleen has been negotiating the best possible deals for her clients whether they are buying or selling single-family homes, multi-residential units, commercial, investment or residential properties, or helping seniors relocate to one of the retirement communities on the Monterey Peninsula.

Arleen is a former President of the Monterey County Association of Realtors and is very active with the Pacific Grove Rotary, is on the board of several local non-profits and a frequent volunteer for numerous Peninsula events. When she’s not selling real estate, Arleen can be found walking for exercise, dancing for fun, spending time in her garden, or traveling with her husband and two sons.

Paige recently came on board as Jessica’s Executive Assistant. Growing up on the Monterey Peninsula, Paige has great appreciation for the lifestyle of our beautiful coast. She has lived in Santa Barbara, Amsterdam and Chicago which has deepened her appreciation for architecture and real estate. She has her bachelor’s degree in Communications, worked extensively in customer service for over 15 years, and she enjoys really connecting with people. She is enthusiastic about her career in real estate and is excited and honored to join this passionate team.

While she’s not working, you can find her spending time with her family and friends. She also loves taking her dog Gracie for walks, fitness, traveling, outdoor concerts and wine tasting!

Caroline is an East Coast native who now calls Pacific Grove home. She received her Bachelors in Communications from York College of Pennsylvania and is passionate about digital/print/social media marketing. Caroline strives to bring a creative flare to any project.

Besides marketing, Caroline’s hobbies include photography, cooking, traveling and hiking with her two dogs, Beau and Clementine. Most days, you can find her and her furry friends at the beach or in the kitchen trying out a new recipe.

Brian moved to the Monterey Peninsula from Sacramento in 2003 to attend Cal State Monterey Bay. He earned his BS in Business Administration and played Division II Golf for the University and fell in love with the area and has continued to build deeper roots. His passion for golf, finance and philanthropy landed him with The First Tee of Monterey County where he was the Development and Finance Assistant and helped underserved youth have a chance for a better future through golf and life skills education. He went on in 2011 to become the 1st Assistant Golf Professional at The Preserve Golf Club where his passion for player development and growing the game was strong. He grew into the Head Golf Professional role, and ultimately the Membership Sales Manager where he enjoyed introducing new members to the Golf and Ranch Clubs. His 9 years of experience at the Santa Lucia Preserve and organic demand for him to serve members at a higher level led to his recent transition to real estate sales in The Preserve Community. His passion for the outdoors, golf and conservation led to him to move to The Preserve where he can best serve the Community. When he’s not working, you can find him snow boarding, trail running, playing tennis, cycling, and most of all- golfing around the world.

Having worked alongside Mike for over 25 years, Nancy’s role on the team is overseeing and approving the print marketing materials from start to finish. Her creative eye lends itself well to working with photographers and other marketing vendors designing print advertising and property brochures for Mike’s listings. Nancy enjoys her “behind the scenes” projects and appreciates the spectacular on and off-market properties the team has listed over the years; as she says, “with properties like these, my job is made so much easier!” Married to Mike for over 45 years, she admits that fly fishing is now a passion, second to testing new culinary creations, followed by a golf game that “needs work.”

After earning her Photojournalism degree from Cal State Northridge, Ellen now calls Monterey home where she pursues her passion for photography, golf, Captain + Stoker coffee and avocado toast and being the best dog-mom to Kona. Since joining the Canning Team in 2015, she has put on many hats. Orginally helping in the Marketing department, Ellen expanded Canning Properties Group in both print and web media design. Ellen has since switched over to the transaction side of the business to challenge her left brain and put her technology expertise to the test.

As a former Division I golfer, Ellen has a passion for the game and enjoys playing on the many courses on the Peninsula. She has a long list of favorites, but the Santa Lucia Preserve Golf Course from the white tees has to be her favorite. She feels the setting in nature really sets this course apart from the rest, but she's willing to debate!

Growing up in a real estate family on the Monterey Peninsula, Nic embraced a rare opportunity of being raised in this captivating coastal community while learning the multi-faceted world of real estate from his parents – Mike and Nancy Canning.

With Mike pioneering the way and Nancy working for a local architectural firm, Nic became enthralled with local real estate at an early age. Nic’s fascination with real estate developed into a lifelong passion for the unique architecture and lifestyle this area has to offer.

Since joining Canning Properties Group in 2014, Nic has been involved in over $700M in sales – delivering desired results for over 160 clients.

Employing second-generation experience and deep local knowledge, Nic provides his clients with invaluable insights on this area’s various neighborhoods, market dynamics and lifestyles. This depth of local market knowledge is further exemplified through his intuitive approach to matching clients with their perfect destination.

While earning a business degree at CSUMB, Nic continued giving back to his beloved community by volunteering his spare time at local non-profits and public schools. Also while in school, Nic developed a passion for martial arts, where he attained a black belt in Renshinkan Karate-Do and later won it’s Pan-American Championship (in ’07).

Nic brings the skill sets he acquired through martial arts – integrity, respect and discipline - into his real estate career, where these same values provide the foundation for every one of his relationships.

An economist at heart, Nic continually analyzes local, regional and national markets to keep his clients updated with real-time data analytics - empowering them to intelligently navigate through our evolving marketplace.

While welcoming clients with interests or investments across all regions of the Monterey Peninsula, Nic specializes in the areas of Carmel-By-The-Sea and Pebble Beach to provide clients with unparalleled market knowledge and expertise in these sub-regions.

When Nic’s not out on the Town helping clients, you can find him playing at his home in Carmel or on the beach with his son (Ryder) and 2 daughters (Madison & Sydney); staying fit with his wife (Megan); or on a golf course pursuing that perfect round.

Jessica joined the team in 2012 after spending nearly 10 years as Global Research Director of Venture Capital and Private Equity for Dow Jones; this business experience brings a level of professionalism and cultural understanding that has proved critical in providing market insight to clients. Since joining the team, Jessica has been involved in over $400M in real estate sales in Pebble Beach, Carmel, Carmel Valley and the Carmel Highlands, and has applied her innovative technology strengths to bring our business to a new level for our buyers and sellers. In 2015 the team was nominated as a top technological innovator by Inman News. Having grown up in Pebble Beach she has an intimate connection with all of the experiences this area has to offer. While attending Stevenson school, she was part of the 1998 CCS Championship basketball team and was the captain of the Volleyball team. Even more important, her education at Stevenson developed a deep passion for photography and literature that continues today. Jessica graduated from Santa Clara University in 2002 with a degree in Economics.

Prior to embarking on a residential brokerage career, Mike practiced law as a real estate attorney. Married to his high school sweetheart and long suffering wife Nancy, they have two children, Jessica and Nic. His greatest avocation is fly fishing, followed not far behind by golf. From 1988 to present working full time in brokerage of residential estates in Pebble Beach and Carmel, emphasizing ocean and golf properties.
